About Paver Patios

Your patio is the foundation of your outdoor living space.

A paver patio isn't just a surface β€” it's the anchor of your backyard. Done right, it becomes the centerpiece your family gathers around for the next 30+ years. Done wrong, it sinks, cracks, and shifts within a few seasons.

We build patios the way they should be built: proper excavation, compacted base, polymeric jointing sand, and pavers from manufacturers we trust.

Whether you want a simple square patio for a fire pit or a multi-tier outdoor living space with seating walls, lighting, and an outdoor kitchen, we handle the design, permitting (when needed), and installation start to finish.

Backyard patio rebuild

Cracked old concrete with weeds growing through the joints became a clean, level concrete patio framed by a stacked stone retaining wall and fresh mulch border.

Our Build Standards

How we build patios that actually last.

The difference between a patio that lasts 30 years and one that sinks in three is what happens before the first paver goes down. Here are the standards every Garrison's patio meets β€” no exceptions.

  • βœ“
Excavation to spec — We dig to the depth the design requires (typically 8–10 inches), not just enough to fit the pavers. Skipping this is the #1 reason patios sink.
  • βœ“
Compacted aggregate base — 4–6 inches of compacted crushed stone in lifts. Properly compacted base is the entire reason a patio holds level for decades.
  • βœ“
Polymeric jointing sand — Hardens between joints to lock pavers in place, prevent weeds, and resist insect intrusion. Standard sand washes out in two seasons.
  • βœ“
Manufacturer-grade pavers — We work with quality pavers from Belgard, Techo-Bloc, and Pavestone. They come with their own multi-decade material warranties.
  • βœ“
Drainage built into the design — Every patio gets the right slope to direct water away from your home. We also handle drainage at adjacent retaining walls and beds.
Common Questions

What you need to know.

How much does a paver patio cost in the Triad? +
Patio costs vary widely based on size, materials, and features. The honest answer is that we can't give a real number until we see your space. After a free 30-minute on-site consultation, we send a clear, line-item quote β€” usually within a few days β€” so you know exactly what to expect.
How long does a patio installation take? +
Most starter patios are installed in 1–2 days. Mid-size patios with features take 3–5 days. Larger custom projects take 1–3 weeks. We give you a clear timeline before we start.
Do paver patios crack or sink over time? +
Properly installed paver patios shouldn't sink or crack. The key is base preparation β€” most patio failures happen because contractors skipped excavation or compacting. We use 4–6 inches of compacted base aggregate plus polymeric jointing sand for stability that lasts decades.
What pavers do you use? +
We work with quality manufacturers like Belgard, Techo-Bloc, and Pavestone. We'll show you samples in person and help you pick a style and color that complements your home and stays in style.
Do you handle permits? +
Most residential paver patios in the Triad don't require permits. If yours does, we handle the process for you β€” it's included in our quote, no surprises.
